Please note that to increase compliance with the City's payment plan terms, the default policy will be changing effective 1/13/26. For standard and standard hardship payment plans, motorists will have three opportunities to default before being prohibited from enrolling in another payment plan with the City. In this instance, a motorist can still set up a payment plan with the assigned collections firm or agency but will be responsible for the associated 22% collection costs. Motorists will continue to have the opportunity to participate in early payment plans as the default policy for those plans will not be changing.

- Located near the top of the violation notice, notice numbers are ten digits and begin with a 5.

Searching by Driver's License Number
- State of Illinois driver's license numbers are 12 characters long and begin with a letter.
- Motorists cannot use this search option if they did not add an Illinois driver's license to a license plate.
- To add an Illinois driver's license to notices issued by the City, call customer service at (312) 744-7275.
- Enter the driver's license number without dashes or spaces.
Searching by Payment Plan Number
- Every payment plan has a unique plan number.
- The payment plan number can be found in the enrollment email.
